Supporting Crime Prevention

Since most of you live here, I thought it would be good to let you know that French Quarter Residents can support crime prevention in the Lower Quarter by joining Lower Quarter Crime Watch. I have recently accepted the appointment of President and with the support of my energetic fellow Board members, we are hoping to "clean up the Quarter" in a way that SDT, LLC can't do. The general purpose of our group is to promote prosperity and progress in the City of NO, ensure the safety of its residents and promote the enforcement of laws and ordinances, specifically in the Lower Quarter. We have dreams of enlarging our detail officer's beat and expanding the hours of patrol, but that is directly affected by our membership's income. I especially want to thank all of you who participated in the recent Block Party held April 20, 2008. We considered it a success as we had a great turn out. Anyone interested further may contact membership chair Catherine Hill chill1240@bellsouth.net (504) 388-0737 or me sam@fqr.com (504) 319-6226. Hope to see you in the neighborhood soon.
